About REnata
Renata Rafaela Jayak Leguisamo Basantes was born in the Andean highlands and raised by her abuelas Sara Guillermina and Laura Marina. Her early life was marked by significant hardship: a secluded childhood and severe chronic illness that, in hindsight, were essential in shaping her path toward becoming a healer.
Renata has been living in New York City since 2016 and has crossed many portals since then. Her experience as a migrant and as a widow have made a profound impact on her soul’s development, and out of that depth Renata dedicates her life to supporting herself and others in moving through suffering with compassion. This ongoing unfolding has been her spiritual school, one that taught her to work across species, land, and Spirit. She is professionally trained in trauma-informed somatic practices, energy healing, interspecies communication, mediumship, and passed-down indigenous practices from the Andes and Amazon region. Her methods are ever-evolving, informed not only by formal training but by direct experience and the unique wisdom each client brings into a session.
As a practitioner, she has developed her own way of holding space, one that weaves together intuitive wisdom, embodied healing, and creative expression. She is an artist and psychic medium whose work is informed by decolonial principles of spiritual liberation. Each person she encounters is on a sacred path of self-discovery, and Renata is deeply honored to help bring clarity and compassion to that journey.
Today, Renata carries her practice in Queens, New York, on the ancestral homeland of the Munsee Lenape, working with clients both in person and remotely.
