We call on the power of the Moon to assist us on our healing journey. Join us, Kadijah and Yura Sapi, in 2023, as we harness the power of the New Moon to set intentions together in service of our self-care, which is self-love for the r(evolution). We’re evolving to create the just futures we dream for our communities across the globe. One of the most important ways in which we all thrive is to take care and love of ourselves along the journey. As someone holding space for others whether in your worklife, homelife, or community space, you know taking care of yourself is foundational in order to help care for others. We give and we receive. Our Self-Care = Self-Love practice helps you zoom into areas where you can show yourself love including physical, psychological, emotional/relationships, homelife, worklife, financial and spiritual self love. You'll leave this decolonized and liberated space with a written manifesting document. Our practice stems from overcoming the “burn-out” that may creep up from being in an environment that centers capitalism, colonization, and supremacy culture, for example. An important tool for healing and decolonization is to reconnect. We are practicing love, both radical and revolutionary. Love of self, others, Earth and all that is. We're healing intergenerational trauma for ourselves, those passed, and those yet to come. Our gathering dates are other every other New Moon of 2023, six gatherings total. We are gathering at times closest to the start of when the New Moon begins. We look forward to covering themes based on what’s going on for the collective energy and will adjust based on the happenings of the moment. We invite the elements of Air, Earth, Fire and Water.

On the New Moon::: We welcome our ancestral traditions of honoring the Moon. Moonlight is Sunlight reflecting off the surface of the Moon. During the New Moon, the Moon’s dayside faces away from Earth, before starting an Earth-orbit cycle that carries the Moon’s dayside into Earth-view a little bit more and more each day. The wisdom of our ancestors continues as we align with this monthly cycle that offers us a new opportunity to grow in correspondence with what’s going on for our planet as beings of Earth.

YURA SAPI Yura Sapi is a light being of Earth, a multi-disciplinary creator and facilitator at the intersections of the arts, healing and social justice. Yura creates liberated spaces that uplift, heal, and transform extending beyond borders and prioritizing anti-racism and decolonization for our globally just futures. They host and produce the Building Our Own Tables Podcast which supports artists and creative activists manifesting our collective liberation. Yura shares from Embera native land in Nuquí, Chocó on the afroindigenous pacific coast of Colombia, where they host artist residencies and learn from the wisdom of nature.

KADIJAH SPENCE Kadijah Spence studied environmental education and researched Jewish values in Jewish environmental education. Kadijah is part of the education team at Central Synagogue, as the fourth grade lead educator. There, they draw on their environmental education studies and research, with a focus on Jewish values and social justice, to create their lesson plans. Kadijah integrates their cultural and social identities into their work to form welcoming and affirming educational spaces. Their passions include gardening, nature walks, writing poetry, coloring, and watching action movies. They love to explore nature and connect with their inner self through music and community. When taking moments for themself, Kadijah notices that they are recharging their battery to continue educating and advocating for their communities.

What Is Sliding Scale?
We offer all of our community offerings and some private sessions by Sliding Scale.

We believe everyone is entitled to heal their wounds so they can thrive; we also believe that the wellness and healing practitioners deserve to make a living wage. In order to make this possible, we ask you to pay as much as you can, so those who might not be able to pay as much can still receive their healing session - this is the idea behind 'paying it forward'. We are all in this together, and we choose to do our best to take care of one another.

Thank you in advance!
